PALFINGER is committed to safety at sea since 1928 and offers new innovative as well as user-friendly solutions to customers in the merchant and cargo segment. For merchant vessels like tankers, bulkers, container ships, and Ro-Ro PALFINGER MARINE supplies functional lifting equipment in order to support their productivity needs. Lifesaving appliances like lifeboats, (fast) rescue boats and davits are also included in the product portfolio. All products are designed and tested in accordance with the latest IMO/SOLAS regulations (MED 96/98 EC).
Customized fenders
PALFINGER supplies first class pneumatic fenders for all sorts of ship to ship operations - from small tankers involved in bunkering operations to large vessels doing cargo transfer offshore.
For the merchant segment, PALFINGER MARINE also offers a special fender davit system which allows operators to safely store and handle the fenders in an efficient way. By using remote control the fenders are deployed and retrieved from an inbuilt cradle. Due to the design, this davit leaves more space on deck and offers great advantages when it comes to maintenance and protection from usual wear and tear.
Polar code compliant solutions
PALFINGER is also very strong in knowledge and competence on Polar Code compliant equipment and the respected rules and guidelines. Our employees tailor the polar packages of our customers and fulfil all regulations for the equipment.
PALFINGER has been involved in many Polar Code projects after first implementation of IMO Solas MSC.385(95) and Solas MSC.386(94). We have gained a lot of experience by working closely with flag state, classification, owners, and shipyards to find the best and optimal solution for the equipment. PALFINGER MARINE already delivered Polar Code compliant equipment for various vessel types: cruise and passenger vessels, navy vessels, research and survey vessels as well as offshore and merchant vessels.
PALFINGER designs various products for cold climate conditions and the company already received positive feedback from vessels operating in arctic areas.
